Sack up... life is either a daring adventure or nothing

Some dude received a gift this week - custom built & screen printed. A suitcase fitted perfectly and with class, for a bottle of bourbon and brass knuckles.

Inside, it reads, “Two roads to courage.”

The outside of the case reads, “Sack up. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

What is Zenith?

Zenith is a retro-futuristic steam-punk thriller, about two men in two time periods, whose search for the same grand conspiracy leads them to question their own humanity.

Starting from a fictional recreation of Stanley Milgram’s Obedience to Authority experiment, Zenith plunges into exploring multifaceted dimensions of the human experience.

The film follows two parallel stories – of father and son – now, and 40 years into the future. Searching for the same elusive conspiracy, both father and son find no answers; instead, their journeys unravel their lives and force them to look deep and hard at themselves and their surroundings.

In the end, they are both confronted with the same Faustian bargain – but each one chooses a very different path.

Build a cool little motorcycle out of a common cigarette lighter

Apparently there's some debate around the internet on whether this is a cool thing. I don't think I'm going to actually do it, but c'mon... this motorcycle is awesome.

If I were 1. In prison, 2. Trapped under a rock and waiting for things to get desperate enough for me to saw off my arm, 3. Ten years old again, 4. Needing to distract a ten year-old boy for a while so I could seduce his mom... etc., I would have a use for this tutorial

iPhone 4 now available through Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless, the nation’s largest wireless mobile provider, announced today that it will offer Apple’s wildly popular iPhone to its nearly 100 million customers, breaking 4 years of exclusivity by arch-rival AT&T.

Verizon president Lowell McAdam made the announcement at an event in New York City on Tuesday morning. He said the iPhone 4 would be available to Verizon customers early next month.

The Verizon iPhone launch follows years of speculation about how long AT&T’s exclusive contract to sell the device would last.

For its part, Verizon will likely pay a steep price for the privilege of selling the iPhone. The company could spend as much as $5 billion in 2011 subsidizing customers’ purchase of the phones, which it will sell at a discount in order to induce new subscribers to sign up for a two-year contract.

Estimates vary from five to up to nine million iPhone handsets expected to be sold by Verizon this year.

Here are the details:

  • iPhone 4 available to Verizon customers February 10, 2011
  • CDMA support only, no LTE
  • Price starting at $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB handset (2-year contract and data bundle required)
  • Mobile hotspot (tethering) for up to five devices included (unknown at this point whether this will be free or not)
  • Because the handset is CDMA and not GSM, no simultaneous voice and data
  • Option to purchase handset contract-free for full retail price
  • According to Apple COO Tim Cook, 4G wasn’t offered because it would have meant too much of a redesign. No LTE because Verizon wanted to take advantage of its 3G network

NASA - The Frontier Is Everywhere

In all of their brilliance, NASA seems to have forgotten to share their hopes and dreams in a way the public can relate to, leaving one of humanities grandest projects with terrible PR and massive funding cuts.

Help them out by "liking" their facebook page

Let's get Monday started already...

I know this stuff is banned, but there's a bodega nearby that is selling out their stock, case by case.

I think there may be a legitimate experiment here: can I get through a Monday of work after drinking one of these... and how many can I drink before my ability to work becomes impaired?

We probably won't know the results until Tuesday...
